THE public is invited to attend a charity Cream Tea event at Waterbridge House, Copplestone (EX17 5LF), off the A377 between Copplestone and Morchard Road on Sunday, June 25.

The event will run from 3pm to 5pm and in addition to cream teas there will be a cake stall, tombola, etc.

Bridget Pike, who is hosting the event with her husband, Andre, said that Andre was diagnosed with leukaemia last October and has since been having chemotherapy at the RD and E Hospital.

She added: “He is very grateful for the care he has been given on Yarty ward and he decided we should do some fund raising to help ELF (the Exeter Leukaemia Fund).”

She said she was thankful that Andre was currently in remission.

Bridget said all would be welcome and she hoped the weather would be nice for the event.

She added that when Andre started losing his hair because of the treatment he was receiving, he shaved his head and raised £1,500, thanks to generous sponsors, including customers who support the family business, A and S Paving.

All monies raised from the cream tea will go to ELF.
