FURSDON House at Cadbury between Crediton and Bickleigh, is inviting people to attend a special Trees Day, where they can learn more about the specimens within the gardens and meet experts from the charity, The Woodland Trust.

The Woodland Trust is the UK’s leading charity championing native woods and trees. It has more than 400,000 supporters.

As well as going on a guided tree walk through the garden, visitors will also have the chance to take home their very own tree sapling.

People will also meet local Woodland Trust staff, including ancient woodland restoration and woodland creation specialists.

As always, there will be the opportunity to take a tour of the house and to enjoy a cream tea at the coach house, too.

Jane Craven, engagement officer for the Woodland Trust, said: “We’re excited to join the team at Fursdon House for a day that’s all about trees. We hope people enjoy learning more about the specimens in Fursdon gardens, and look forward to giving them a tree of their own!”

Judi Chambers, from Fursdon House, added: “Mr and Mrs Fursdon are very pleased to be working with The Woodland Trust for this event, promoting the beautiful trees at Fursdon. They look forward to welcoming lots of visitors on Sunday, August 27.”

The event will run from 2pm to 5pm and admission to the garden will be free-of-charge. Tours of Fusdon House will be £4 for adults but free for children.
