WORKS to install a new telegraph pole and reconnect cables brought down following an early morning road accident have been completed and the road A377 has now fully reopened in the town.

It was at about 2.30am that a vehicle struck a pole in Charlotte Street today, Saturday, October 10.

Charlotte Street has been closed from East Street to Exeter Road for many hours, reopening more than 12 hours later, just after 3pm.

Traffic has now returned to normal.
