CHARLOTTE Street between East Street and Exeter Road on the A377 in Crediton remains closed at this time following a vehicle collision with a telegraph pole at about 4am this morning, Saturday, October 10.
The road is closed in both directions and power cables are reported to have come down.
Devon Highways are at the scene and making the scene safe following the removal of the vehicle which caused the damage.
Traffic is advised to use Wellparks Hill if coming from the Exeter direction.
Traffic coming down through the town can use the one-way East Street and Mill Street and can then re-join Exeter Road past the road closure or go via Wellparks Hill.
Stagecoach buses are not currently serving the town centre due to the incident.
Further updates as we have them.
