A WEEKEND of great music, entitled Music Market, will take place as part of "CredFest 2013", from Friday, June 21 to Sunday, June 23.

Musicians and bands taking part will include: Will and The People, Carnivala!, The Swamp Gods, The Waxroom, Seat of the Pants Orchestra, Liar in the Light, QE Choir, QE Jazz band and Crediton World Music Choir.

There will also be Busking in the Three Little Pigs pub, Stevie B's bakery, Evans Newsagents, outside Cartoonz gift shop and in Olivia James gift shop.

Featuring popular local bands: The Waxroom, The Swamp Gods + one other TBC soon.

Saturday, June 22

BUSK IT! (10am-1pm) - all over town!

A host of talented Mid Devon musicians play in unlikely venues throughout the town, in a series of "pop-up" performances.

There will be singing in the street (but hopefully not in the rain), shindigs in the shops, choirs in the cafes, harmonies in the hardware shop and songs in the square. Expect the unexpected! FREE!

CODS MUSIC MARKET MIX (1.30pm - 3.30pm) - Crediton Arts Centre - A singing workshop with members of CODS to learn two or three pieces for performance in Newcombes Meadow (or Boniface Centre if wet) within the Music Market event. COMMUNITY CHAMPIONS (2pm-5pm) - Newcombes Meadow - A feast of musical talent awaits on two stages. The programme includes: 2pm - Sandford Sings, 2.10pm - Crediton Town Band,2.30pm - Landscore Singers, 2.45pm - Jake Slocombe Trio, 3.05pm - Rowan and The Retakes, 3.25pm - QE Choir, 3.40pm - QE Jazz Band, 4pm - Crediton World Music Choir, 4.20pm - CODS, 4.40pm - Liar in the Light.

Exeter Circus Skills will also be on hand performing and teaching circus skills to anyone who wants to have a go. FREE!

GYPSY UNIT, WILL and THE PEOPLE, CARNIVALA! (7.30pm - 11pm) - Crediton Town Square auditorium - Featuring Bristol-based electro-Balkan collective Gypsy Unit, sunny ska-pop "reggae sandwich" Will and The People and local circus-swing group Carnivala!, who are "on a mission to spread their gypsy-fused dance rhythms around the world".

MUSIC WORKSHOP - MUSIC BEING THE FOOD OF LOVE...PLAY ON! (2.15pm-5.15pm) - Crediton Arts Centre.

Join members of Seat Of The Pants Orchestra (SOTPO) in an enjoyable and inclusive improvising music workshop, open to all musicians of any ability, young and old-hands.

Beginning with fun musical games leading into group interaction, improvisation and finally musical performance.

Using instruments and voices those attending will look at creating a soundtrack for film, exploring how music can work with images and trying out people's own musical soundtrack creations.

Together the group will create "spontaneous compositions" to accompany the animations from the animation workshop and also perform alongside SOTPO at the evening event – a chance for you to fly by the seat of your pants.

SEAT OF THE PANTS ORCHESTRA (7.30pm) - Crediton Arts Centre
