UPDATE: The M5 has fully reopened.

A PERSON has been airlifted to hospital after an 11-vehicle crash on the M5.
The collision took place at around 11.30am on the southbound carriageway between junctions 28 (Cullompton) and 29 (Exeter).

At least two people have been injured. One person was trapped in their car and cut free by the fire service before being taken to hospital by air ambulance.
The road is currently closed southbound at junction 28.
