POLICE are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information in connection with a report of theft of a GPS system from a tractor in a yard on a farm in North Devon.

It took place on a farm near Mariansleigh at some time between 6pm on Wednesday, February 28 and 1.30pm on Thursday, February 29.

The police ask those using GPS systems to consider pin enabling them (where possible), mark them with postcodes/etching/marking kit, and most importantly, remove them from vehicles when not in use and store them securely.

A police spokesman added: "Please be wary of any suspicious activity and make a note of descriptions and vehicle registrations, report any suspicious activity on 999.

"Anyone with information, offered similar items or with CCTV in the area mentioned is asked to please telephone 101 quoting 502400049375, or make contact via the Devon and Cornwall Police website."
