DEVON and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received several 999 calls, the first being at 5.41pm on Tuesday, March 18, reporting a car on fire close to a property in Crediton.

Three fire engines were sent, from Danes Castle, Exeter and Crediton, and on arrival crews confirmed two cars were well alight.

Firefighters used one hose reel jet and one foam jet to put out the fires.

One of the cars was totally destroyed by the fire and the other was 75 per cent damaged.

The cause of the fire was deliberate, so the Police were requested to attend.
