Crediton High Street closed after serious collision

CREDITON High Street remains closed this morning between St Saviour’s Way and North Street due to accident investigation work by police.

A collision involving a motorcyclist and a van took place in the High Street early this morning.

Emergency services attended, including a Devon Air Ambulance.

The incident took place just before 8am.It is understood that the motorcyclist sustained some possibly life changing injuries.

The air ambulance landed in Newcombes Meadow at about 7.50am and left again at about 8.40am.

Traffic is advised to be aware of the road closure until further notice.

Stagecoach has announced services will operate via Barnstaple Cross/Jockey Hill until further notice and says it is expecting heavy traffic disruption in the area.
