IT has been great to have had the Crediton and District Skittles League back in full swing after the effects of Covid, with some great scoring, many tense games decided by one single pin, and just being able to enjoy a sociable evening out once again.
The new committee would like to thank the now departed committee (Reg Willing, Di Perry and Brenda Balman) for their many years of hard work and for making sure there was something there for us to take the reins of post-Covid.
Many Congratulations go to all winners.
For the first time in 12 years The Cricketers were unsuccessful in retaining the top position of Division One and were pipped to the post by The Runaways who were also winners of The Chris Taylor Cup.
After a tight top of the table battle, Kirton Twitchers were successful in winning Division Two.
At the finals evening United Crediton turned up on form taking a clean sweep of all the cups with Dave Leyman and Mickey Carr winning the pairs, Dave Leyman winning Mens Individuals and Liz Fallon winning the Ladies Individuals.
Other winners included Nomads (Harry Barnes Headpin), Cricketers (Absent Friends Cup), Steve Densham (Captains Cup), Ian Cann (Player Of The Year), Erica Stott (Ladies Rose Bowl), Simon Stevens (Mens Rose Bowl) and Ian Bond (Highest Average).
The 2023/24 season will start in September with the addition of a four-player team cup named The Di Perry Cup.
