CREDITON Youth FC had two sides that made it through to the Exeter and District Youth League cup finals last weekend.

Once again the finals were held at Tiverton Town’s Ladysmead ground.

On Saturday, the U13s were hoping for back-to-back cup final success. Despite putting in a great performance, it was not to be their day and they lost out 4-2 to Moors Youth.

Jake Shepherd and Jake Stagg scored the goals.

Sunday saw the U12s go into their final against Seaton Town Youth probably as the underdogs.

They put in a superb team performance against a side a league above them.

The first half ended goalless with Crediton having created the better chances.

The second half was very much the same, until Will Matten eventually broke the deadlock with a well-taken goal which was enough to send the trophy back to Crediton.

The result capped a fine season for the U12s which saw them also finish runners-up in their league.

Sunday also saw the conclusion of the Devon Girls league for the Crediton sides.

The U14s finished a fine season with a 3-1 victory at Lords Meadow over Stoke Hill.

Two goals from Lily Anne Smith and another from Evie Lewis capped a fine morning for them.

The U12s also hosted Stoke Hill, but they were edged out 2-1 by their guests.

Despite the defeat they still finished joint top of the Summer Champions league.
