SANDFORD Football Club has just become one of the few clubs to be awarded the Football Association’s chartered standard.
The chartered standard is the FA’s accreditation scheme for grassroots clubs and leagues.
Its goal is to raise standards and support development of clubs, recognising and rewarding them for their commitment and achievements.
With this in mind, the FA charter standard accreditation is awarded to clubs rigorously adjudged to be well run and sustainable.
Age Cartlidge, first team manager at the club, said: “Well done to all the committee, players and everyone who has been involved or helped the club in recent seasons.
“With the first team playing in the very last game of the Devon and Exeter league with a 2-0 win over Feniton in the Football Express cup final the players have had a few extra weeks before returning to training.
“Training has now commenced and is held at the Sandford pitch on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6.30pm to 8.30pm each week.
“A warm friendly welcome awaits all the players from both teams who play in division eight and five of the Devon and Exeter league and new faces always welcome - good quality training and a great bunch of lads guaranteed to greet you.”
