WALKING rugby was designed for the over 50’s as a slower non-contact form of the game.
The Crediton group that meets at Crediton Rugby Club on Friday evenings has developed its sessions to be an all-comers activity.
Younger family members join in for some inter-generational rivalry, and it is also enjoyed by players recovering from injury or preparing to return to competitive playing.
Sessions have also been useful for parents trying to find out more about the game their children are playing and for men and women who have never played but just want to exercise their legs and lungs.
The coach and play sessions are adapted to whoever goes along and tactical plans are also worked on.
Sessions run on Friday evening for an hour starting at 7pm, meeting in Crediton Rugby Club car park, with trainers and plenty of water.
All are invited to attend.
