DEVONPORT SERVICES 57-22 CREDITON RFC 2ND XV

DESPITE pushing Devonport Services close in the reverse fixture back in November, this away trip to the league leaders was always going to be a stern test.

With availability once again posing challenges for the coaching team, the squad was boosted by several Colts who stepped up superbly and showed real maturity in a demanding environment. Well done Jake Kibbey, Monty Charteris and Ben Pulfer!

The game itself was a fiercely physical contest, both sides carrying hard and defending with intent. While we matched their effort and ambition, the home side’s power and accuracy in attack ultimately proved decisive as they secured a 57–22 victory.

What cannot be questioned is the character shown throughout. The lads battled to the final whistle, refused to let the intensity drop, and earned a well-deserved try bonus point for their efforts, crossing four times and showing real pride in the shirt.

A tough day, but plenty of heart, plenty of fight, and plenty to build on.

Scorers – Tries: Charlie Conner (2), Macca Jones, Kevin Ellis. Cons: Jake Kibbey.

Coming up on Saturday, March 14: 1st XV – no game, 2nd XV v Withycombe (H), 3rd XV v Teignmouth (H), Colts XV v Camp Hill (H).
