FOLLOWING the World Cup, rugby was still very much on the Queen Elizabeth’s School Sports Partnership agenda with 12 primary schools taking part in a mammoth three-hour session of Tag Rugby recently.

With 32 teams battling it out, QE’s 31 Year Nine Sports Leaders were kept very much on their toes, refereeing a total of 80 matches and awarding 300 tries.

After group stages and three knockout rounds, Landscore School retained their title, beating Newton St Cyres to hold onto the trophy!

Ross Gillon, PE Teacher at QE, who heads up the Sports Partnership, said: “A great start to our Sports Partnership this academic year!

“We saw real commitment from our competing primaries and solid leadership from our Year 9’s on the day.

“Congratulations, once again, to Landscore for retaining its Tag Rugby title, a worthy win, and well done to all our Year 5 and 6 participants.”

Coming up next on the Sports Partnership calendar is Gymnastics for Years 3 and 4 pupils.
