THIS year saw a record entry of 170 teams competing at the Lords Meadow pitches, for the annual Crediton Youth Football Club six-a-side tournament.

This year also saw the tournament sponsored for the first time by Crediton Dairy.

Teams had travelled from as far afield as Wooton Bassett, Yate and Casterbridge in Dorset to compete at every level from Under Seven's through to Under 16's.

The two day competition is the clubs main fundraiser and takes a massive team of volunteers to prepare and run the event throughout the weekend.

Club Chairman, Martin Daniel, said: "We had a superb weekend, with some excellent comments from visiting sides.

"Special thanks must go to our sponsors Crediton Dairy, and the great team effort of all helpers who worked so hard to put on such a marvellous tournament.
