THE Alzheimer’s Society will be holding a fundraising Memory Walk in Plymouth on October 8.
The Plymouth Memory Walk is a brand new walk and will take place at Plymouth Hoe. The charity is aiming to raise £100,000 and bring together more than 1,500 walkers across generations.
Whether you are walking in memory of a loved one, to celebrate someone you know affected by dementia or to create memories with your family and friends, people of all ages and abilities can raise money to better support those living with dementia and find a cure – you can even bring along your furry friends!
The 1.5km route explores Hoe Park, with a scenic stretch along the seafront and is wheelchair friendly.
The longer 8.5km route is more challenging and will lap the impressive Royal Citadel before heading along the South Coast Path to Royal William Yard and returning inland along picturesque streets.
It contains steps, hills and rough woodland paths and therefore is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs.
The Alzheimers Society are the UK’s leading dementia support and research charity for people living with dementia, their families and carers.
