AN Individual Stableford Competition was played at Okehampton Golf Club on Saturday, March 5.

The winner of Division One was Adam Cook with 41 points, with Alan Stokes second with 40 points winning on the back nine from, in third Richard McFarlane, placing Phil Martin in fourth with 38 points.

Division Two was won by Alan Lawson with 43 points.

Ross Anderson was second with 39 points, Reggie Wonnacott was third with 37 points and Paul Ayris was fourth, also with 37 points.

Scott Gillespie was the winner of Division Three with 45 points, Tim Butler took second place with 42 points and Adrian Raymond was third with 41 points.

Bill Tucker was awarded fourth place, also with 41 points.

On Sunday, March 6, the ladies section entered the annual International Women’s Day Competition for the Caws Cup.

It was bitterly cold but 18 main greens were open enabling the first qualifier of the season to be played.

The winner of Division One and the Caws Cup was Sue Williams with 37 points.

Marcia Collett was second with 33 points and Penny Deakin was third with 32 points.

Division Two was won by Jane Warren with 32 points after count back from, in second, Mary Keir also with 32 points.

Diana Johnson was third with 30 points.

It was agreed that all competition fees and donations would be sent to the Disasters Emergency Committee’s Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal and £225 was raised.

All the hats (and even socks) worn by the lady golfers were knitted by member Elaine Marwood and have raised £170 for the Lady Captain’s Charity, Cruse Bereavement Support.
