THE Mid Moors netball team played its first ever match at the "Federation Cup" tournament in November.
The team, which played in its new purple Mid Moors kit, was made up from players from both Spreyton and Copplestone Schools.
The Mid Moors team played extremely well and finished credible runners up, in doing so matching the excellent result of the Mid Moors football team earlier in the month.
The tournament was held at Spreyton School and was the first netball match held in the village for a number of years.
Executive headteacher, Stuart Busby, said: "It represented another positive outcome of the federation of Copplestone and Spreyton schools, which is committed to giving pupils in both settings the widest possible exposure to enjoyable learning experiences.
He added: "It was great to see pupils from both schools cooperating with each other and working so well together as a team.
"These excellent skills and attitudes will really help them to develop into well rounded young adults.
"I'm pleased that so many parents came along to support the Mid Moors team and I'm sure that they'll also enjoy attending some of the exciting events we have planned in the New Year."
