FOR their June meeting members of Lapford Over 60’s Club went to the Waie Inn, Zeal Monachorum for a skittles afternoon which was greatly enjoyed by everyone.

There were two teams, in two alleys and the winners were: Team One: 1 David Bulley, 2 Margaret Tucker, 3 Steve Dunford. Team Two: 1 Roger Janes, 2 John Boothroyd, 3 Noel Parry.

The first prize winners received trophies, and the runners-up medals.

Also in June, 20 members of the group visited Lyme Regis where they enjoyed sightseeing, walking the promenade and refreshments.

The next meeting on Thursday, July 25 will see Noel Parry speak about his days at head teacher at Lapford Primary School.
