DOWNES Crediton Golf Club Seniors Played the May monthly medal on Monday, May 22.

Joe Hull scored a superb nett 67 (three under) to take the Division One prize with David Hudson finishing in second place, also with a nett 67 but losing to a better back nine.

In Division Two it was John Cann who took the top spot with a score of nett 68 (two under) and Ian Steer finished in second place with a score of nett 72 (two over).

The winner of the mid-week stableford, played on Wednesday, May 24, was Gerald Abdoll who scored 35 points.

Anne Woodger scored 33 points to take the Ladies County Stableford Five on Thursday, May 25 and Lyn Parry scored 30 points to finish second.

In the nine-hole stableford competition Linda Gill scored 15 points to take the top prize.

The nine-hole Thursday stableford was won by Tristan Kershaw who scored 17 points.

Another open, held on Saturday, May 27, was the annual 36-Holes Kyrton Pairs which saw a packed field battle it out.

The Downes Crediton pair of Tony Blackburn and Wayne Moore, scored 84 points to claim first place.

The best score for the first round was by Ashley Ford and Neil Ford from Downes Crediton with a score of 37 points.

The best afternoon score was taken by the pair of Simon Higson and Paul Taylor, from Cricket St Thomas, with 42 points.

Martin and Angela Storey won this year’s Cynthia King Robinson mixed trophy on Sunday, May 28 with a superb score of 41 points.
