GRAHAM Weeks and Ken Bones produced “best of the day” stableford scores of 39 points at Downes Crediton Golf Club on Wednesday, August 31, with Graham taking top spot by virtue of a better back nine holes.
The County Stableford on Thursday, September 1, saw Lyn Parry score a fine 39 points to take a four point victory over second placed Di Parsons whilst in the nine-hole stableford Jill Yates scored a superb 20 points to take the win.
In the Thursday nine-hole stableford a trio of players posted scores of 19 points with Liam Whittleston taking the victory on countback. Michael Trick was placed second, with Gary Miles in third.
Harrison Tarrant was in tremendous form on Saturday, September 3, in the Captains Stableford as he scored a superb 42 points to win overall and top Division Three.
Following in second in Division Three was Jonathan Persent (39pts) with Wayne Moore continuing his good form scoring 37 points to place third. Division One victory went to David Slee posting an impressive 40 points with Nick Taylor (39pts) second and Tristan Kershaw (38pts) third.
A trio of players posted scores of 39 points in Division Two with Neil Buchan victorious, Mark Khan finishing second and John Huskinson third.
Downes Crediton hosted its annual Pro-Am on Sunday, September 4, sponsored by South West Galvanizers Ltd on Sunday with competitors from across the South West taking part.
With the course in fine condition there was some good scoring and none more so than professional Richard O’Hanlon from St Kew who put together a fine 67 (three under par) to take a one shot victory.
Barry Austin (DCGC), Ryan Pope (Exeter Golf and CC) and Paul Hendriksen (Ivybridge GC) all scored 68’s (two under par) to finish in a tie for second.
In the team Pro-Am Ryan Pope along with partners Ollie Knowles, Ben Lyne and James Skinner posted 88 points (16 under) for victory with Richard O’Hanlon and amateur partners Hanna Dubrowski, Luke O’Hanlon and Robert Cooper scoring 87 points to finish second.
Third place went to home professional, Barry Austin, along with partners Tim Keehner, Hayden Leech and Charley Penwill with a score of 86 points.
