MONDAY, November 14 saw Downes seniors compete in a pairs Canadian Foursomes that saw some very impressive scoring.

Two pairs posted best of the day scores of eight under par 44 points but winning with a superior back nine holes were Roger Wellaway and Frank Morrell leaving John Essery and John Hooper in second place with 44 points.

Third place went to Enright brothers, Danny and Jim, scoring 43 points with Cyril Dawes.

Saturday, November 12 saw Downes members play their Christmas Poultry Team Stableford (two scores to count) open to all sections of the club.

Winning overall with a very impressive 19 under par 91 points were the trio of Chris Bruce, Tim Staite and Matt Brooks. This gave them a six point winning margin over second placed David Woodstock, John Warren and Colin Wheatcroft (85 pts) with Todd Dove, Jack Cross and Adam Westle third scoring 84 points.

Jon Cornish, Katie Cornish and Jerry Thornton won the mixed section (78 pts) with Marina Caston, Doreen Warren and Fran Shrubsole winning the ladies section (66 pts).
