DOWNES Crediton Golf Club Seniors played a Team Texas Scramble on Monday, December 30 which saw the trio of Ray Kelly, Jim Dunlop and Roger Gratton take the victory with a superb score of 94.

Finishing second, and losing out on the back nine, were Chris Vercoe, David Vowden and Nick Bromell also posting 94 points. Phil Beasley, Robin Tooze and Peter Stunell (86 pts) followed in third place.

Jim Dunlop started the New Year in style scoring a superb 39 points to win the New Year’s Day stableford.

Anne Woodger took victory overall and topped Division One in the Ladies 3 Mulligan Stableford played on Thursday, January 2 with a brilliant score of 35 points.

Ying Wong scored 34 points to finish in second place whilst in Division Two, Sue Bonner (32 pts) was victorious with Joe Coe (28 pts) in second place.

Downes members played a Canadian Foursomes on Saturday, January 4 which saw Jim Dunlop continue his fine run of form to pair up with John Rance for a fantastic 45 points and victory.

Maurice Curtis and Ben Marchant finished in second place with a score of 44 points whilst the father and son duo of Chet and Ollie Greenslade (43 pts) placed third.
