DOWNES Crediton Golf Club Seniors played for the David Moss Vase on Monday, September 23 and it was Peter Blinkhorn who claimed the prize with a score of 41 to take the trophy and the Division One prize.

Jim Dunlop finished second in Division One with a score of 37 points. In Division Two it was Mark Walker who took home the top prize with a score of 40 points with David Fleming finishing second with a score of 37 points.

Patrick McVeigh won the midweek stableford on Wednesday, September 25 with a score of 38 points.

The annual ladies autumn meeting, played on Thursday, September 26, saw Lyn Parry’s score of nett 79 take the Division One prize and she was closely followed by Ying Wong who scored a nett 82.

In Division Two it was Joe Coe who came out on top with a score of nett 85. She was closely followed by Vivienne Bailey who scored a nett 87. In the nine-hole competition it was Margaret Mapledoram who scored a nett 40 to take top spot.

Saturday, September 28 saw Downes Crediton hold an open invitation day which saw more than 130 golfers play.

It was the pair of Stewart Cowling and Tim Linnington who came out as champions with a score of 45 points while the pair of Oliver Greenslade and Jack Greenslade came second with a score of 43 points and the pair of Patrick Simpson and Keith Rees finished third also with 43 points but losing to a better back nine.

The Chandlers Generation Challenge took place on Sunday, September 29 and saw the team of Matt Dyne and Graham Dyne retain the trophy with a score of 39 points.
