DOWNES Crediton Golf Club ladies played an individual stableford on Thursday, October 27 and winning with 34 points was the ever-consistent Lyn Parry.

Marina Caston followed in second place scoring 32 points with Judith Ezard (31 points) in third place.

Saturday, October 29 saw Downes men and ladies compete in a Club Stableford.

Robbie Hallam took advantage of a Downes Crediton course that is still in wonderful condition, to score a massive 45 points to take victory and see his handicap reduced from 19 to 15.

This also gave him victory in Division Three with Rick Eidam second (39 points) and Lee Chudley third posting 37.

In a close run affair Mark Harris took the honours in Division One scoring 37 points with John Ponsford (36 points) pipping Alan Draper (36 points) to second courtesy of a superior back nine.

Division Two saw a win for Steve Blackmore scoring a fine 40 points, one clear of Darren Clifford (29 points) in second with Gerry Tomlinson posting 37 for third place.

The Ladies Division saw a fine victory for Shirley Stunell who put together a tremendous 40 point haul to win by six points over second placed Tracey Chandler (34 points).
