IN amazing conditions at Okehampton Golf Club on Saturday, July 14, Club Captain Alan Stokes hosted his Captain’s Day competition, the format being four ball better ball on the front nine and greensomes on the back nine which saw lots of various spot prizes to be won.

The overall winners were Reg Wonnacott and Dave Stallion with 48 points, in second place were Reg Prescott and Sam Evans with 46 points and in third were David and Sue Williams with 45 points.

Best Ladies prize was won by Judith Ezard and Maggie Caws with 41 points and the best mixed prize was won by Penny and Allen Deakin with 43 points.

The evening was rounded off with live music and a barbecue.

Malcolm Hooper of Okehampton Golf Club won the Handicap Category at Exeter Golf and Country Club on Friday, July 6 when he competed in the Devon Golf Seniors Championship played over 27 holes.
