Janice and Cherry win Rees Baker Cup at Okehampton Golf Club

IN beautiful conditions, on Saturday, May 28, a three ball two to count Stableford competition for the Ted Brown Trophy was held at Okehampton Golf Club.

The winners of Division One and the trophy were Will Searle, Billy Searle and Tom McGratton with 86 points.

Second place went to Keith Harvey, Alan Lawson and Adrian Raymond with 82 points and family team Matt, Andy and Lewis Parry were third with 81 points.

Division Two was won by Mike Davis, Alan Grimshaw and Steve Sandiford with 85 points.

Bill Stevens, Andy Ewen and Martin Jewell were second with 79 points and in third with 76 points were Steve Robinson, Ron Copeland and David Rowe.

The ladies section played a Greensomes Stableford competition for the Rees Baker Cup and the winners with 37 points were Cherry James and Janice Thwaites followed into second place by Stacey Ford and Clare Salter with 35 points.

Three of the Okehampton ladies represented the Club at the Spring Meeting of the Devon Past Captain’s held at Teignmouth where Cherry James was again victorious as overall winner with an amazing 41 points.
