ON Saturday, January 6, a cold and frosty day, Downes Crediton Golf Club members turned out in force to play the weekend competition, a pairs Canadian Foursomes.

The duo of Rodin Mackay and Maurice Curtis were victorious scoring an impressive nine under par 45 points to fend off their nearest challengers by the slimmest of margins.

Five pairs then scored 44 points to fill spots second to sixth.

By virtue of better back nines it was Richard Dyer and Matt Redstone who took second with Martin Garnsey and Kev Cole third whilst Chris Bruce and Matt Brooks followed in fourth.
