DOWNES Crediton Golf Club said goodbye to its golf manager with a four-team player competition and a thank you reception last month.
Devon Greenslade was thanked for his 20 years of hard work and dedication on and off the course at Downes Crediton.
The club said: "As you all know Devon, our superb golf manager, has left Downes Crediton Golf Club to take a new career path at Honiton Golf Club.
"Devon has gone from scrubbing pots all the way to PGA Professional at Downes Crediton Golf Club.
"He has been a massive part of the club from winning the Devon Boys County Championship as a junior to winning his first PGA event as a professional.
"We have been truly lucky to have him in the club."
Devon explained: "I started playing at Downes Crediton when I was just 10.
"I worked in the kitchen from the age of 12 and then went on to waiting at table and becoming the club cook.
"I then worked behind the bar and became bar manager.
"I became one of the club pro's at 18, then spent four years in the shop, seven years in the office, two-and-a-half years as club manager and five years as golf administrator.
"I have had a fantastic time at Downes Crediton and can't thank everyone at the club, members, staff, past and present, enough.
"The club will always hold a special place in my heart and I wish this great club every success in the future.
"Thanks for everything."
More than 100 people took part in the 2-3-4 stableford competition at the club before a celebration event was held.
Devon is now general manager at Honiton Golf Club.
