DOWNES Crediton Golf Club seniors played the Jack Painting Memorial Stableford on Monday, June 12 and taking first place in Division One and the trophy, with a brilliant score of 39 points, was Peter Caston.
Followed closely behind was the winner of Division Two, Frank Morrell with an equally impressive score of 38 points.
Ollie Knowles took the spoils this week in the Wednesday Stableford on June 14 with a fantastic score of 42 points cutting his handicap from nine to eight. Following him into second place was Kevin MacPherson with 41 points and in third place was Connor Clifford with 38 points
On Thursday, June 15 the ladies held their County Stableford Seven and Warren Crocus. Fran Shrubsole was the winner with a brilliant 34 points beating Tracey Chandler and Di Parsons on countback to be crowned champion.
On Saturday, June 17 Downes held the Kirton Cup Open, a three man team two scores to count stableford, but this year we got to also host the Devon County Inter Club team event.
Winners of the Kirton Cup was our very own Adam Hull, Matt Arnold and from Sidmouth, Lewis White, with a brilliant score of 84 points.
In second place were the team of Paul Furzer, Mark Harris and Ashley Rookes, another local team, with 80 points and in third was the team from Fingle Glen who also took home the Devon County Inter Club team trophy so well done to the team of Joe Baker, Danny Hoskins and Luke Burchell.
