OKEHAMPTON Golf Club held a Four Ball Better Ball competition for the Charles Pedrick shield on Saturday, July 27 and the winners of Division One were Chris Pike and Reg Prescott with 45 points winning on the back nine from, in second Paul Rattenbury and Sam Woollacott.

Toby Gostling and Lee Carey were third with 44 points placing Harry Hawking and Graham Pengelly in fourth also with 44 points.

The winners of Division Two and the Charles Pedrick shield were Rob Green and Sam Evans with 46 points just ahead of Steve Pike and Kerry Skinner with a better back three.

Rod Wright and Matt Mills were third with 45 points closely followed into fourth by Colin Beardwell and Phil Burley with 45 points.

On Wednesday, July 24 the ladies section held its annual Club Championships and after a challenging 36 holes Abby Turner retained the trophy with a gross score of 153 and Marcia Collett was second with 171.

The winner of the handicap trophy was Sue Williams with nett 142 and Frances Harbron was second with nett 144.

The Vick Rose Bowl for ladies over 65 and unable to play 36 holes was also contested and the winner with 37 stableford points was Maureen Willcocks and Cherry James was second with 35 points.
