WIN A PAIR OF PREMIER TICKETS
FAMILY Day at Exeter Racecourse on Wednesday, April 11, is free for children and one of the track’s busiest and most action-packed days of the year.
Two pre-booked Grandstand and Paddock tickets are available for just £15 and the first 200 children through the gate will also receive a FREE children’s race pack.
There will be fantastic racing, including two pony races, and loads of FREE children’s activities, not to mention characters from the film "Ice Age" - Sid and Scrat - making personal appearances at intervals throughout the day.
Take a peek behind the scenes with former jockey Ollie McPhail who will lead a tour of the racecourse when there will be a chance to get close to the steeple chase fences, learn about what happens in the weighing room and ask jockeys questions about the sport.
There will be jockeys’ autograph sessions during the day, children’s running races down the home straight, Dartmoor ponies to pat and groom, the chance to go on an equiciser, which is an imitation racehorse, wear jockeys’ brightly coloured silks and meet Dexter, the racecourse’s mascot horse.
New this year will be the launch of Junior Jumpers at Exeter Racecourse – bringing children exclusive news about their favourite jockeys and horses, plus the chance to meet them and take part in special activities. Take a look at the details on the website: http://cheltenham.thejockeyclub.co.uk/junior-jumpers .
Gates will open at 12.20pm, with the first horse race off at 2.20pm, after two pony races. There will be a free bus from Exeter St David’s Railway Station (12.40pm) and Exeter Bus and Coach Station (12.55pm) returning to the racecourse half-an-hour after the last race.
