WORK has now started on the new clubhouse at North Tawton Bowling Club and the committee is well aware that a lot of hard work lies ahead.
The final round-up of results from the season were as follows:

North Devon Triples: The A team finished in third position in Division Two and the B team finished in first place in Division Five giving them promotion into Division Four.
In The Shield competition, the A team were third and the B team eighth.
The ladies again did well by winning the Top Club competition, coming in third position in the North Devon Triples and fourth in The Shield.
Results within the club itself were:
MEN:Wonnacott Cup, Lloyd Reynolds; Avery Cup, Robert Arscott; Benham Cup, Tristan Hamilton; Stoneman Cup, Lloyd Reynolds and Ron Indge; Legion Cup, Lloyd Reynolds and Rick Ball.
LADIES: Powlesland Cup, Margaret Arscott; British Legion Rose Bowl, Margaret Arscott; Vallance Cup Pairs, Iris Gill and Margaret Denham; Triples, Iris Gill, Margaret Denham, and Karen Austen.
This year also saw the club’s 60th anniversary which was celebrated by a visit from John Theedom’s Devon’s President’s Team.
The club’s Town Pubs competition was a great success and hopefully attracted new members. The club’s attendance at the “Healthy Living Morning” in North Tawton Town Hall also gained new members.
The Club dinner will be held at the Waie Inn, Zeal Monachorum on Saturday, November 28 and tickets are still available from Hon Sec Gordon Denham (01363 881414).
So to sum up North Tawton Bowling Club is in a good place at this moment in time but we are not complacent!
Well done and thanks to all our members.
