OKEHAMPTON Golf Club Ladies held their annual 36 hole Club Championship on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 26 and 27, where the overall winner, with a gross score of 146 nett 138, was Abby Turner.

In second place with gross 172 nett 150 was Marcia Collett and in third position with a gross score of 175 nett 141 was Cherry James.

Cherry was also the winner of the handicap salver.

There was a separate 18 hole stableford competition for the Vick Bowl and this was won by Marcia Jones with 29 points who was followed into second place by Lin Atkinson with 28 points.

On Saturday, July 30, in beautiful settings, the Captains’ Day was held with the format for the day being a four ball better ball stableford competition with both to count on the 18th (two flags).

The winners with 50 points were Lewis Parry and Mitchell Hunt who were closely followed into second place by Steve Rice and Gareth Holt with 49 points. Stuart Tolley and Barry Down took third place with 48 points.
