THE pitches at Lords Meadow only just passed a pitch inspection to allow two fixtures to take place on the morning of Saturday, November 26.

It was always going to be a tight affair for the U16’s as they took on Heavitree Blacks.

The two newly promoted sides have both found it tough adjusting to life back in Division One.

Goals from Harry Welsh and Owen Jones gave the home side a 2-0 lead at the break.  An early goal for Heavitree after the restart made things interesting for a while before Jones sealed the result for the Crediton lads.

No-one would have predicted the score on the other pitch as two of the top U14 sides went head-to-head.

After 12 goals it was Alphington who ran out 8-4 winners to remain top of the table. The Creddy goals came courtesy of a Rhys Ebdy hat-trick and a well-taken Harry Norman goal.

The only side to have an away fixture were the U12’s. They nearly paid the price for not taking their chances in the first half.

George Strawson rescued a point for them in the last minute to level things at two apiece. Dan Cavanagh got the first Crediton goal.

The heavy overnight rain saw all the girls fixtures on Sunday fall by the wayside.
