CREDITON United Football Club is celebrating after winning the South West Peninsula League East Division programme award.

The club has won Macron sports vouchers to the value of £250. The programme is edited and printed by Phil Ludgate (07912 154 006).

The Club also won the third prize of £200 for the F.A Respect award. This is calculated on points awarded to the team by the referees after each match for “respect”.

PRE-SEASON TRAINING

Pre-season training starts on Thursday, July 5 at 7pm on the main pitch at Lords Meadow. This will be a two-hour session and is open to ALL players of all abilities.

Further training sessions follow on Monday, July 9 and Thursday, July 12.

The club is particularly keen to encourage new players from the local areas to go along and have a look at the facilities and add to two strong teams.

Last season the First team finished in the top six in the South West Peninsula League East Division and achieved its best ever FA Vase Cup run to-date.

The team has spent large spells of the past two seasons at the top of the table and will again be looking to challenge this coming season.

The Second team has achieved impressive back-to-back promotions in the last two seasons and will now be playing in Devon and Exeter League Division Two. Again, the team will be looking to achieve a third straight promotion in the coming season.

The first friendly game will see Crediton First Eleven play host to North Devon neighbours Braunton at Lords Meadow on Tuesday, July 17 with a 7.30pm kick off.
