I CAN report another winning Saturday (November 10) for Lapford AFC - I reckon a good few days along with what has been going on, in relation to 100 years ago for the ending of World War One, and getting nearer every year for Lapford’s 100 years celebration in 2019.

With the football results for Saturday, the first team were away at Chagford and won by three goals to nil and I quote from the sports section by Mr Goodwin, Round One, thus Lapford have taken over top position after this success.

The scorers were Joe Badcock, “rocket man special” Dom Stapleton and last again for the second week running, the captain Mark Tucker. Well done Lapford, onwards and upwards.

Tomorrow, Saturday, November 17 the first team are home to Chard Town, kick off 2.15pm. First team’s records now stands at: P7, W6, D0, L1, pts 18, GD +17. A winning run of five wins in league and cup games.

Just to remind you all who read my reports, in the Devon Senior Cup Fourth Round Lapford are at home to Crediton United on December 1.

The Reserves, who were at home to Chagford Reserves on Saturday, won by five goals to one, to take them into the fifth position. Well done lads. Their record stand at: P8, W4, D0, L4, pts 12, GD +2.

Tomorrow the Reserves are away at Cheriton Fitzpaine, kick off 2.15pm.

Let’s have another winning Saturday. I hope most of the people will have visited The Ark in Lapford to view the football exhibition. Any comments would be most welcomed by yours truly.

Best of luck to all.
