WITH the continued growth of Crediton Youth Football Club, this year it was decided to hold an additional Presentation Event in the clubhouse for the Girls Section and the Disability group.

It was a great honour for the Club to welcome some of the players from the Turning Tides group, and coach Ben Pidgeon, who have recently become affiliated to the Club.

The evening took an informal format, with the girls having a training session followed by food prepared by the mum’s of the Girls Section.

It has been a great season for the girl’s sides who have collected four trophies along the way. The Club runs three girls sides at Under 10, 12 and 14’s age groups, and has a membership of more than 50.

The “Sister Club” partnership with Yeovil Town Ladies is proving to be a really great link.

All the players received their participation medals, and very much in keeping with the spirit of the girls set up, it was decided not to award any individual awards.

During the evening, Turning Tides presented Crediton Youth FC with their Inclusive Accreditation in recognition of the strong working relationship.

Presentations and thanks were given to managers and coaches of the Girls’ Section, Claire Ebdy, Dave Hartshorne, Liz Cousins, Nikki Sandland, Sean Hartrey, and Tony Cockayne, who have all worked so hard to get the girls section to where it is, in such a short space of time.

A special presentation was also made by Club Chairman Martin Daniel to Stuart Raymont from the Turning Tides group, who collected the Senior Section Chairman’s award for outstanding achievement.

Since being involved with the club, Stuart has achieved his FA Level One Certificate in football coaching.
