THERE was a surprise guest at the Lords Meadow football pitches last Wednesday as part of Crediton Youth Football Club’s training.

Exeter City player of the season Lee Holmes dropped in to meet the players. Crediton Youth were delighted to welcome Lee, who is sponsored by local builders R J Salter and Son Ltd.

Lee primarily came out to train with the Under 10’s and joined in with their training session. He also wished the players from the Under 14’s good luck prior to their game against Beacon Knights and spent time with players from the Under 7’s and 8’s squads.

Lee finished his visit with a question and answer session with the Under 12’s squad.

Club Chairman Martin Daniel, said: “It was really great for the players to get the chance to meet Lee in person and have an opportunity to train with him and ask him questions about his career.

“We are extremely grateful to Mike Salter of R J Salter and Son Ltd, for arranging for Lee to come out to Crediton.
