IT was Exeter and District Youth League cup weekend for the majority of Crediton Youth sides.

The U16s made it through to the next round with a 5-2 home win over Culm Sampford Cheetahs.

Owen Jones led the goal scoring with four and Louis Garnsworthy with the other.

Also at home were the U14’s who progressed courtesy of a 7-2 win over Exeter Panthers. Ollie Baker leading the scoring with a hat-trick, Dan Burgess, Isaac Hillier, Rhys Ebdy, and Zach Mildon also getting on the score sheet.

The U13’s were the other side at home in the cup, and they eased through with a 10-1 victory over Ottery St Mary Flames. Seb Roche with four goals, a Jake Stagg hat-trick, and singles from James Murphy, and Zac Miller and an own goal saw the start of hopefully another great cup run for them.

It was a short journey to North Tawton for the U15’s, but they lost 7-2 to their neighbours. Goals from Charlie Cookson and Ben Betts saw them go in at half-time 3-2 down and still in the game. But a slow start to the second half saw them go further behind right after the restart and they never recovered and some late goals sealed their fate.

It was a home friendly for the U12’s against Cranbrook Youth.

Despite goals from Ethan Moore, Luis Matthews and Oliver Stone they were edged out 4-3 by the visitors.

Sunday saw the U14 girls return from Torquay United Community Sports Blues with a 5-0 win. Doubles came from Amelia Duffin and Chloe Curtis, with Abbie Carthew completing the scoring.

It was another two-all draw for the U12 girls at home against Stoke Hill. Goals from Gracie Pugsley and Lexi Mullen saw them share the points.

After a couple of heavy defeats, the newly formed Crediton Youth U18s took a lot of encouragement from their 5-2 defeat against Clyst Valley at Lords Meadow. Sam Price getting both of the Creddy goals.
