RESULT of the day down at Lords Meadow last weekend had to be Crediton Youth FC U15’s victory over top of the table Avishayes Combe.

Their 3-1 victory allowed them to leapfrog the Chard based side to sit top of the table.

After a tight first half it was the visitors who struck early in the second period. Creddy got back into the game after a great solo run by Owen Jones, allowed Ryan Sandland to finish from close range.

From then on, there looked to be only one winner. Further goals from Ben Harvey and a bullet header from Jones sealed the result after a great second half team performance.

Another big game saw the U13’s host league leaders Alphington. With a few key players missing, and despite putting in a battling performance, they could not prevent the visitors from maintaining their unbeaten record and ended up going down 3-0.

The U14’s were pleased with their first half performance going in 2-1 down to Ottery St Mary, but eventually slipped to a 8-1 defeat. Will Cridge getting their consolation goal.

It was a narrow home win for the U11’s who edged out Bradninch. Their goals coming from Jac Caruana and Jimmy Orchard.

The U10’s took on Exmouth in a friendly fixture and eventually lost out to the visitors. Ryan Ebdy and Jayden Saunders on target for them.

Another away day at Teignmouth for the U8’s. They carried on from last week with Dexter Hughes, Leo Hargreaves and Freddie Huber amongst their goal scorers in their victory. But it was the overall team performance that impressed the coaches.

Last Sunday saw the U9 girls grab their first victory against Torquay United Community Sports. Lots of goals and great effort on a heavy pitch at Lords Meadow.

Back in action as well were the U7’s and despite the weather they had some very enjoyable games against their North Tawton counterparts. Player of the days for each side were Oliver Holt and Zachary Leach.
