OWING to half-term there were not as many Crediton Youth FC fixtures last weekend as usual.

The Under 8’s started their league season with tough home fixtures against Alphington and Heavitree. Overall their coaches were really pleased with their performances with one win and three narrow defeats.

It was a similar story for the Under 9’s who also hosted the same Exeter sides. Very tight games, with one narrow victory and their defeats all by the odd goal.

Lympstone was the destination for the Under 12’s, with Seb Roche getting the only goal of the game to give them another win.

The Under 15’s edged out local rivals Newton St Cyres 5-3 with Alfie Poole, Jasper Hunt, Owen Jones and a brace from Eli Tanner securing the points for the home side.

After going 2-0 up early on against top the table Ottery St Mary, the second half saw Ottery show their class and eventually run out 9-2 winners against the Under 16’s. On target for Creddy were Josh Conway and Oliver Evans.

Sunday, October 24 saw the newly formed Crediton Youth U9 Girls play their first ever matches. This is the youngest girls side the club has ever run, and was made up entirely from players who had joined the club through the Wild Cats programme. The girls thoroughly enjoyed their two games against Cullompton and Twyford Spartans.

The Under 13 girls had a friendly fixture against Chulmleigh Youth. Crediton winning the game 1-0 through an own goal.
