MONDAY, February 6, 1967 – The Chairman reported on the outcome of the Disciplinary Meeting and said that I.Grinney had been fined £1 with 5/- costs and a warning as to his future conduct. It was decided not to lodge an appeal, although the decision of the Disciplinary Committee was not thought to have been justified against I.Grinney.

(Apparently another player was guilty of the offence having given Ian’s name to the referee when asked).

August 21, 1967 – It was agreed that biscuit barrels be bought to mark the wedding of John Gillard and also the forthcoming wedding of Graham Lee.

September 11, 1967 – To mark the forthcoming wedding of Tony Holmes, it was agreed to obtain and present him with a biscuit barrel.

March 11, 1968 – Mr C Gillard reported that he had paid Mr B Dart £1 for rolling the pitch.

May 6, 1968 – The result of the ballot for the Cup final ticket valued at 10/- (50p to watch a cup final!!) was as follows: W. Ellaway, J.Waldron, C.Gillard and F.Davey.

September 8 – It was decided that J.Stevens would be given a carving set for his forthcoming wedding on September 17 (must’ve run out of biscuit barrels!).

March 31, 1970 – With regard to the recent dance at the Town Hall S.Elston reported the details as follows - £38.14.11d taken at door, Expenses – Group £17-10-0d, hire of hall £10-0-0d.

July 6, 1970 – The social secretary reported that as a result of the Ladies Sponsored walk held the previous day an estimated £217-0-0 would be raised for the Club.

August 24, 1970 – The secretary reported that he and the treasurer had seen Mrs Holmes regarding the money in the name of Crediton Colts Social Committee and had arranged for the money to be withdrawn and divided equally between Crediton United A.F.C and Atco A.F.C.

October 12, 1970 – After discussion regarding the Carnival D.Blanchford proposed and J.Twitchin seconded that we send Mr M. Halsey £2 in appreciation for driving the carnival lorry.

January 18, 1971 – It was reported that P.Osborne had been charged as a result of being sent off against Beer Albion and had to appear before the East Devon Disciplinary Committee. The chairman agreed to accompany him.

January 25, 1971 – The Chairman reported that P.Osborne’s case had not been proven and therefore no action had been taken.

The secretary reported that P.Head, the former secretary, was married recently and it was agreed to send him a present.

February 14, 1972 – A letter was read from Jersey Football Association in reply to our recent letter. It invited the club to play in the Jersey Festival of Football. The secretary was asked to obtain further details.

May 15, 1972 – The vice-chairman reported that he had been approached by members of the Rugby Club regarding another joint Six-A-Side Tournament and Fete. It was agreed to arrange if possible.

September 11, 1972 – In connection with the Club’s training sessions at Shelley School it was agreed that players should be charged 5p per week and any non Crediton players 15p per week. After further discussion it was agreed that we pay Mr I Sneddon, the trainer, £1.50 per week for each week that is not covered by the evening classes.

December 18, 1972 – As it was known that K.Harvey had decided to leave Exeter City, it was decided to write a letter to him asking him if he was interested in joining the Club.

January 26, 1973 – It was brought up at the meeting that Gordon Foden was leaving the area and in accordance with the Club’s practice it was agreed to present him with a gift.

March 26, 1973 – After discussion it was agreed that the Club purchase 200 table tennis balls for the “200 Club” draws.

June 25, 1973 – The meeting was informed that Mr T. Elston had informally heard that we must vacate the changing rooms by June 30, 1973. It was agreed that this decision must be fought against.

July 2, 1973 – The secretary reported that he had contacted Mr Blake and that the result was that the Club would have the use of the present changing rooms until December 31, 1973 and that Mr Blake would try in the meantime to get the club use of school facilities thereafter.

August 6, 1973 – The treasurer reported that a cheque for £10 had been received from the Crediton R.F.C as repayment of the loan made by the club several years ago. The treasurer agreed to acknowledge receipt of cheque and return the bonds for cancellation.

Mr D.Blanchford stated that due to pressure of work it would be necessary for him to resign as Second Eleven team manager. Thanks to Mr Blanchford for his past efforts were expressed by the Chairman and endorsed by the Committee.

October 1, 1973 – It was also announced that the Social Club have arranged a dance at the Market House. Gary Kane and the Tornadoes will be the musical attraction.

June 10, 1974 – The treasurer read a letter from the Devon County F.A reporting that D.Leyman had been suspended for 42 days from the September 1, 1974 and fined £4 with 35p costs.

August 27, 1974 – It was decided by the Committee that a cup of tea on match days should cost 2p per cup except for players and officials.

December 30, 1974 – As there was some confusion as to whether a decision was reached at the last meeting on the matter of Tiverton A.F.C approaching our player T.Petherick the matter was discussed again and it was agreed that they should be reported to the League.

March 10, 1975 – The matter of insurance for Phil Matten was discussed and the secretary agreed to write to Mr Howard and ask him how our player stood about getting insurance whilst in hospital undergoing a minor operation on his nose.

June 16, 1975 – It was agreed the secretary should write to Mr Harold Davey thanking him for the oranges for the six-a-side.

September 29, 1975 – The secretary agreed to write to Newton St Cyres A.F.C with regard to the transfer of W.Hole giving them seven days notice of our intention to approach this player.

December 15, 1975 - A lengthy discussion was then held on the position of First Team manager, due to the resignation of Mr A.Matten. It was agreed that Mr K.Granger should take over this duty.

April 26, 1976 – The secretary agreed to contact Mr Payne and inform him the changing rooms were now empty and ready for demolition.

A lengthy discussion was then held about the Club building a Clubhouse. The secretary agreed to write to the Tiverton Council asking about loans and grants.

May 10, 1976 – A.Matten brought along an architect to the meeting to discuss further details of building a Clubhouse and it was agreed that some plans be drawn up.
