SANDFORD travelled to Tedburn St Mary for their third league game of the season on Saturday, September 13.
Having won their first game away at Awliscombe and lost the second at North Tawton, the "ford" were looking to continue their bright start to the season.
On a bright but windy afternoon Sandford kicked off and their first attack within a minute saw Baker shoot into the side netting.
Tedburn started put the "ford" defence under pressure and on 18 minutes they scored to make it 1-0 to the home side.
Another Sandford attack again saw poor finishing as the ball went past the goalpost.
On 40 minutes Sandford drew level through Rowan Bosacki.
With the game going into injury time Tedburn scored with another free header, 2-1 at halftime.
Sandford suffered the loss of their defence player Tyler Morgan Hugget, already carrying a back injury, as a Tedburn player came down on him in a tackle.
He was replaced by Shaun Stapleton making his first appearance of the season.
The second half saw Sandford on the attack and on 49 minutes Chris Hawkins shot wide, then a corner to "ford" saw Matt Baker head onto the bar.
Unfortunately from then on Tedburn started to take control of the game and on 64 minutes made it 3-1.
Later in the 76th minute the home side made the score 4-1. This is how the score finished at full-time.
Sandford started the match brightly enough and not being able to convert their chances in front of goal seemed to lose their way and run out of ideas.
No match this coming week but the Saturday after, the 27th, we play our first game at the George V Playing Fields at Sandford. Please come along and support.
