SOUTH MOLTON 5 - CREDITON U14S 1

SATURDAY, November 16 saw Crediton United FC Youth Under 14’s play a rearranged match away to South Molton.

The game kicked off with the first 15 minutes being quite even. South Molton started to take control, leaving Reece with lots to do in goal, pulling off some fine saves to keep the score at 0-0.

Matt (Hartshorne) and Pete (Luxmore) put in some important defensive challenges, however, Crediton couldn’t keep them out with South Molton finally taking one of their chances towards the end of the first half. It was 1-0 to South Molton at half-time.

Crediton had lots of work to do in the second half, playing up a slight slope. South Molton came out quicker than Crediton, giving them a two-goal cushion.

Within 10 minutes of the second half the score was 4-0 to South Molton. South Molton kept the pressure on with Reece continuing to make more saves.

Another goal from South Molton soon followed making it 5-0.

Crediton huffed and puffed, still struggling to create chances. Finally, Charlie (Lancelles) found himself with ball at his feet at the edge of the box and created an angle to chip the ‘keeper.

The final score, a well deserved 5-1 win to South Molton.

Thank you to the ref who was very supportive and fair with all players on the pitch and enjoyed banter with the parents, issuing a red card to a supporting Mum for a rubbish first touch!

Crediton Under 14s next game is today, Saturday, November 23, at home to Brixington Blues.
