Crediton Reserves v Hartland Clovelly Firsts

THERE were lots of changes in personnel for the Crediton Reserves v Hartland Clovelly Firsts with many Crediton players away and rested.

A lacklustre first half saw us come in only 1-0 up at half-time due to a solo run and strike from the in-form Alex Goldsbrough.

A better final ball would have seen us have a much greater lead, as youngsters Perry and Norton were constantly getting in behind down the right flank.

At half-time, Norton and Hutter rested to get minutes into the legs of Clement and Dzubrak.

Within a minute of the restart we were 2-0 up, some real quality play resulting in Parkins heading home from close range.

It was 3-0 five minutes later following a penalty from Perry.

On the hour saw Lee and Hoskins replace Goldsbrough and Parkins.

Allum then followed in for the fourth with a back post tap in.

Michael Broome replaced Suliavskas, good to get Broomy back on the pitch after a lengthy injury lay-off. Although his pass completion rate was approximately eight per cent #Rusty.

Perry made it five with a brilliant solo effort rounding several of their defenders before slotting home.

Jack Lee got the sixth with a 25-yard screamer, then wagged a finger at the bench, showing his displeasure at being rested for an hour. Almost like he didn’t tell us 400 times during the game!

Allum got his brace after finishing off a good interchange between Perry and Lee, for the latter to fire across goal, to Allum inside the six yard box.

All-in-all a very comfortable win after eventually breaking down the stubborn HC defence and keeper.

Great to use more of the squad.

MOM Ben Perry, DotD Michael Broome.
