KEEN swimmer, Ed Whitwell (9) swam 140 lengths for Sport Relief at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre swimming pool. Ed's father, Richard Whitwell said: "Staff at the leisure centre were very supportive and encouraging and allowed Ed to have his own lane for the swim. "His sister Pip and I helped to pace him by doing support lengths and by encouraging him to have a drink during the swim." When Ed was training the most he swam was 58 lengths so it was quite a challenge on the day and he used a mix of front crawl and breaststroke. Ed attends Witheridge C of E Primary School where his favourite subject is art. The target he set was to raise £200 in sponsorship, although he managed to double the target to £400.
