THE Downes Crediton Golf Club ladies played their Express and Echo and Killard Leavy Foursomes on Thursday, April 9.

Overall winners were Joyce Gilg and Linda Gill with a score of 33 points, which gave them a narrow victory over Lyn Hazelton and Rickie Pawsey by one point (32).

Third place went to Trish Wallis and Elizabeth Mapson with 29 points.

On a sunny, yet breezy Saturday (April 11) Downes Crediton staged their Captain's Charity Stableford, open to all members.

The best score of the day went to Tony Rowe who scored a fine 41 points.

This also gave Tony victory in Division Three just beating Adrian Cram on a better back nine. Will Cockerham finished in third place with 40 points.

Division One winner was Simon Cartlidge who scored 36 points, one point clear of Andy Frankum in second with 35 points. Third place went to Michael Delling with 34 points.

Victory in Division Two went to Nigel Chard with 36 points. Following in second place was Ryan Cross with 35 points, just beating Dave Hill on countback who also scored 35 points to finish third.

Victory in the Ladies Division went to Liz Mapson with a fine score of 36 points.

Sunday, April 12, saw Downes Crediton members Andy Frankum and Mike Nott travel to Fingle Glen to play in the second round of the Daily Mail Foursomes.

The duo was victorious beating Fingle pair Andy Rogers and Dave Lee four and three to advance them to the next round.

They now await the draw for the third round. DG
