A CREDITON woman recently completed the Great West Run 10k in Exeter in aid of the Force Cancer Charity.

Debbie Keast explained: “I managed to run the 10K in just under one hour and two minutes, a personal best for me!

“Thank you to all who have taken an interest and supported me in my latest charity fundraiser on Sunday, May 25.

“Your donations mean so much as I have visited their hub and seen how important their support is to patients affected by cancer and at the same time being a valued space for families too.

“There is a lovely garden in which to chat to others and those that work and volunteer there, and a cafe there providing drinks and cakes all free to make things a little less stressful.

“My mum used Force when she had bowel cancer back in 1996 and since then Force has grown so much and is very much a place that is a key service to Exeter and surrounding areas.

“My just giving page is still running for a couple of weeks and you feel you’re able to give a little that would be wonderful.

“I’m around the £1,000 mark which is amazing… my run was dedicated to my Nan, Amy Radford who sadly passed away in 1987 from Myeloma (a form of blood cancer) after only being diagnosed a few months earlier.

“I really enjoyed the run with a fab atmosphere… the route was lined with families cheering us on and I must admit University hill took some grit an determination!

“Jelly babies were aplenty to give us a boost, people singing or playing instruments was so encouraging too… will I be doing it again next year? “Absolutely! And I would love you to join me! Thanks again everyone.”
